The project, in a few words

Under the Wing of the Bald Eagle is a project led by four engineering students from a prestigious institution with the aim of raising public awareness about the impact of climate change and human activities on the biosphere, so that we can all work together for the future of our planet. From March to July 2024, we will travel through Norway, Sweden, and Finland to study various issues affecting ecosystems, as well as conservation and protection strategies that can be implemented. We will produce a documentary and publish summaries of the knowledge acquired.

So, why the white-tailed eagle ?

The white-tailed eagle primarily inhabits the Eurasian continent, Greenland, and Iceland. Unlike its American counterpart, it is larger, with a wingspan often exceeding two meters.

Hunting, pollution, and habitat loss once pushed this species into a state of high vulnerability. Protective measures were implemented by several countries during the 20th century. Now, the white-tailed eagle is no longer in danger, and its population continues to increase.

This example illustrates the impact that humans can have on their environment. Capable of driving species to extinction, they are also capable of proposing solutions that restore their sustainability.

Through this inspiring management example, we invite you to join us on a journey in search of other examples of wildlife management, to study what is happening under the wing of the white-tailed eagle.
